Images du jour

One of the exercises in Lynda Barry's "Writing the Unthinkable" course is to make a list of ten images one sees on a given day.

Today was image rich:

I. Guy got on the campus shuttle carrying a gallon of milk.
2. Another guy wearing an "I caucus for Darfur" t-shirt.
3. The sun gleaming off the Weisman art gallery.

4. People relaxing at a free lunchtime concert outside Northrop auditorium.

5. Little kids jumping around and dancing to the music of the band, "Romantica."

6. The Mississippi looking mighty (and mighty blue) from the Washington Avenue bridge.

7. A young evangelist shouting Bible verses from a small homemade podium.
8. A circle of students lounging and laughing on the sprawling lawn of the campus mall.
9. Two squirrels apparently falling in love.
10. A middle-aged woman hiking across the bridge with a guitar on her back, towing a suitcase on wheels. Oh wait. That was me.

What do squirrels falling in love look like, exactly? Were these the grey, furry variety or the giggly, lip-glossed, sophomoric variety?
